If you’re in the States, you can get them at Radio Shack. Their 15 NPN assortment usually has 4 or 5 transistors in it. You might also use a BC or BC Watch the pin assignments.

Great guys, thanks for the info. In the UK the ZTX seems readily available, closest to the 2n is 2na which appears to be very similar. Apr 20, 8. The 2NA would be fine.
The ZTX is a bit more robust. Your results will really depend on what the surrounding components look like.

If you’re replacing existing transistors, better find out what caused them to burn up in the first place. Electrolytic caps that are shorted or open can cause such failures. Apr 21, 9.
