I love cooking and reading cookbooks.
I love eating vegetarian food. So what’s not to love daxa this cookbook? When I bought this used, thankfullyI didn’t realize that strict Hindus sometimes shun garlic, as it “fuels impure desires and thoughts. I practically live on garlic I adore itand while the photos are appetizing, I just can’t handle using a cookbook full of recipes with nary a clove in sight.
I also can’t I love Indian food. I also can’t handle the dairy-intensity of these recipes. Too much milk and ghee for this reporter.

Great for someone learning to cook Vegetarian Indian food – one of our copies that we keep at our cafe is absolutely thrashed!

I eventually discovered it by chance earlier this year whilst reading about the actress Hayley Mills who provides the forward for this book. The Hare Krishna Book of Vegetarian Cooking is a wonderfully presented and beautiful vegetarian book vasa Indian recipes. It contains much interesting information, especially about a balanced and nutritious vegetarian diet.
The recipes are many I had read about this book years ago, but then struggled to find out what it was called again for nearly a decade! The recipes are many and contain a good variety – soups and stews, rice dishes, breakfasts, beverages.
There are also nice accompanying photographs of prepared dishes. I’m very glad I finally found this gem of a book. This book saved my life!

Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, a prominent devotional scholar and the founder of sixty-four branches of Gaudiya Mathas Vedic institutesliked this educated young man and convinced him to dedicate his life to teaching Vedic knowledge in the Western world.
